Welcome to the All Jiu Jitsu Association (AJJA). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services, including participation in any AJJA-sanctioned events, tournaments, or activities. By attending, participating in, or accessing any of our services, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please refrain from participating in or attending AJJA events.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or attending an AJJA event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. These Terms apply to all participants, spectators, volunteers, officials, and any other persons attending or involved in AJJA events ("Participants").

2. Participation and Conduct

Eligibility: Participation in AJJA events is open to all individuals, subject to the rules and guidelines provided for each division or category. Participants must compete at their appropriate rank/skill level unless otherwise directed by AJJA officials.

Code of Conduct: All Participants are expected to adhere to the AJJA Code of Conduct. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining proper sportsmanship, respecting fellow competitors, and complying with event rules and regulations. Failure to comply may result in disqualification, removal from the event, or a ban from future events.

3. Assumption of Risk

Voluntary Participation: By attending or participating in an AJJA event, you acknowledge that Jiu Jitsu and related activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to physical injury, disability, or death. You voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including any risks that may arise from the negligence of AJJA, its employees, volunteers, or event organizers.

Injury Waiver: You agree that AJJA, its employees, volunteers, affiliates, and event organizers shall not be held liable for any injury, illness, damage, or loss of any kind that you may incur as a result of participating in or attending an AJJA event. This waiver applies to any injury or loss resulting from inherent risks, negligence, or any other cause.

4. Medical and Emergency Care

Medical Authorization: By participating in an AJJA event, you consent to receive any necessary medical treatment in the event of injury, accident, or illness. You also agree to bear the full cost of any medical treatment or services provided during or as a result of your participation in an AJJA event.

Fitness to Participate: You are responsible for ensuring that you are physically fit and medically able to participate in Jiu Jitsu activities. AJJA is not responsible for any pre-existing medical conditions or any injury that may occur as a result of your participation.

5. Liability and Indemnification

Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, AJJA, its employees, volunteers, affiliates, and event organizers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your participation in or attendance at an AJJA event.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AJJA, its employees, volunteers, affiliates, and event organizers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your participation in or attendance at an AJJA event, including but not limited to claims for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death.

6. Rules and Regulations

Compliance: All Participants are required to follow the rules and regulations set forth by AJJA. This includes but is not limited to competition rules, equipment requirements, and behavioral guidelines. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification, removal from the event, or other penalties.

Event Modifications: AJJA reserves the right to modify or cancel any event at its discretion. In the event of a cancellation or significant change, AJJA will make reasonable efforts to notify Participants in advance.

7. Media Release

Photography and Video: By attending an AJJA event, you grant AJJA the right to use any photographs, videos, or other media taken of you during the event for promotional, advertising, or other purposes without compensation or notice.

Consent: You consent to the recording and distribution of your image, voice, and likeness as part of any event coverage or promotional materials.

8. Refund Policy

Event Registration: Registration fees for AJJA events are non-refundable unless otherwise stated. In the event of a cancellation by AJJA, refunds or credits may be issued at AJJA's discretion.

Event Changes: If an event is rescheduled, Participants may be offered the option to transfer their registration to the new date or receive a credit towards a future event.

9. Personal Property

Responsibility: AJJA is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. Participants are encouraged to secure their belongings and avoid bringing valuables to events.

10. Minors

Parental Consent: If you are under the age of 18, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to participate in AJJA events. Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that minors comply with these Terms.

Supervision: Parents or guardians must supervise minors at all times during AJJA events. AJJA is not responsible for the care or supervision of minors outside of the event activities.

11. Event-Specific Terms

Additional Terms: Some AJJA events may have additional terms and conditions specific to the event. Participants will be required to review and agree to any event-specific terms prior to participation.

12. Governing Law

Jurisdiction: These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which the AJJA event is held. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your participation in an AJJA event shall be resolved in the courts of that state.

13. Modification of Terms

Updates: AJJA reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website or communicated to Participants, and continued participation in or attendance at AJJA events constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
